Sun, sea, and engagement rings

This is a hectic world and today's civilization seems to be too quickly changing and mutable and the values from the past seem to have drifted beyond our modern reach. Very few couples nowadays stay together with the enduring love that means a silver anniversary will be celebrated and all those couples that do reach this milestone should be heartily congratulated. Perhaps they sport a bit of silver hair now but they could never forget that first shopping trip to the jewelry store to gaze at the engagement rings displayed in the glass case and the first rush of genuine love knowing that they will make a purchase and tie the knot. And twenty five years later as a reaffirmation of the love that has sustained their lives they may feel it is time to go on line and to book a holiday in Spain at the Costa del Sol where they found such great joy on their first honeymoon. And indeed if a couple survive this tumultuous world together for twenty five years the very least they deserve is a holiday in the sun as recognition and celebration.

So it is off to the airport and a quick flight to Andalusia for a carefree week of rest, relaxation and romance. The rental apartment is very near a local golf course which means that at least one day can be spent walking and exercising on the links in the sun. And a short trip into town to sit at a familiar cafe where plans where once made to create the lives and love that has endured until now may awake a plan to simply look at the selection of glamourous engagement rings on offer to see if a match could possibly be found. A day walking barefoot on the beach could also be in the plans to feel the primal pleasure of the surf washing up and tickling one's bare toes and later perhaps just to lie back and relax under an umbrella with a cool tropical cocktail to sip in the orange evening sunset while quietly discussing all of the reasons that you can still share such happiness. Perhaps a Spanish lesson or two would be in order not only to ease communications but simply because Spanish is a very romantic language, rich with a multitude of expressions of love.

Back at the rental apartment none would say that a day lounging by the pool would be amiss after all an anniversary need not be filled chock-a-block with running about finding ways to fill your time just as wedding plans were not only about engagement rings. A marriage can only last because there are those quiet times when two can quite simply sit and gaze into one another's eyes, silent communication is sometimes the very best. But it goes without saying that perhaps the best time at the apartment will be long after sunset with a champagne bottle upended in the bucket and the stars twinkle above and a small spark of romance slowly burns until the fires of passion force the couple indoors to express the feelings that have endured and kept them together over all these years.
